As mentioned by Scoble…and Matt Mullenweg

“The idea for an event for WordPress users has been bouncing around in my head for a long time, as there is a really interesting group of people around WP but we don’t do nearly as many face-to-face interactions as some similar projects. A set of circumstances are coming together at the beginning of August, and I think we’re going to give it a go.”

Again with the “I Think” statements… I think AOL should send someone (If we’re not already). WordPress has over 100,000 users and gets aprox 1 million (Yes that’s million) post a day. I think they’re doing something right. True AOL has a huge network and probably a larger userbase, however we also make it easier…with SNS and a few clicks a member can have a blog, so we’re not really “drawing” users to us…we’re providing. WordPress on the other hand is gathering users and drawing them in through features and flexibility. I’ve said it before AOL should look into acquiring WordPress and I think developng a relationship with Matt Mullenweg and the WP community would be nothing if beneficial.

One thing that I feel has to be said, is Matt is really robbing himself by not providing ad’s. I’m not sure how the wordpress team is able to fund what they do however they run a phenomenal network and I think if they were to introduce advertisements no one (including myself) would complain. - That is all.
